We do this get a sense of their expectations and to find out if they have specific requirements for the sound that we record on set.
When we arrive on location, we take our research and all other factors into consideration. We pay attention to the details, from location and clothing issues all the way to slight changes in an actor’s voice and the inflections. This is to ensure that the sound we record on location is captured cleanly and accurately by our equipment. We have learned to be flexible and can easily adapt to any situation. Preparation is key, and The Sound Department believes in that fully.
The production sound team plays a major role in each project. Which microphones to use, how we deploy them, their positioning are important. We pay attention to detail and have the patience required to capture good, clean tracks. That is our main objective. We love what we do and that is why we’re good at it.
